McLean High's "Highlander" Wins Silver Crown Award

McLean High School's student newspaper, the Highlander, won a Silver Crown award in the High School Newspapers category from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. A total of 1,355 magazines, newspapers and yearbooks were entered in the 2008 competition. Some 65 publications received the Silver Crown award, the second highest CSPA award. . Editors of the paper are Sarah Albani, Holly Betancourt, Kenneth Burchfiel, Catherine Davis, Elizabeth Gholimasgarha, Louis Huang, Devan Kerley, Jasmine Mohandesi, Sarah Ross, Talia Roth, Margaret Welch and Chris Smith. The Virginia High School League also named Sarah Ross the McLean High School Journalist of the Year.
