Army Pfc. Nicholas A. Jackson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Robin Haynes of Austin Hills Drive, Suwanee, Ga., and Rigley Jackson of Alton Square, Herndon.
Army 2nd Lt. Jonathan J. Batt has graduated from the U.S. Army Ranger School at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga., with authorization to wear the distinctive Ranger Tab. A graduate of the Ranger Course is the epitome of the U.S. infantryman.
Batt, an infantry officer, has served in the military for four years.
He is the son of William T. and Tina M. Batt of Moffett Forge Road, Herndon.
In 2003, the lieutenant graduated from Herndon High School, and received a bachelor's degree in 2007 from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.
