Lindsey Leake, 19, of Centreville was awarded the Edwin F. Ferris Class of 1899 Grant by Princeton University’s Humanities Council in May. The grant provides funding for undergraduate students to undertake summer internships in writing, publishing, journalism, and other forms of print and electronic media. Lindsey, who will be a junior at Princeton this fall, is currently working as an editorial intern for Washington Spaces magazine. She was also awarded Princeton University’s Dorothea Vandyke McLane Prize in Italian last spring. Leake graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in 2006 and is currently pursuing a degree in Italian and Journalism.
