Oakton senior Joe LoRusso was a double winner at the Northern Region Indoor Track and Field meet on Saturday at George Mason University. LoRusso took home the 1000-meter run title with a time of 2 minutes, 22.96 seconds and followed with a title in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:22.47.
Led by LoRusso, the Cougars finished fourth at the meet, with junior brothers Neal and Brian Hendricks placing third and fourth, respectively, in the 3200 run. Brian also placed second behind LoRusso in the 1600. Also placing in the points for the Cougars were Yuma Tsubakitani (5th, 500); Chris Weil (6th, 1000); and Scott Maxfield (4th, 1600).
