The West Potomac wrestling team participated in last weekend’s Sterling Lions Mcgowan Invitational Tournament and finished with a solid team score of 123 points, good enough for fourth place in the team competition.
Among the standouts for the Wolverines were Stephen Howell (189 pounds), who took home first place in his weight class, and Sam Agyemang (145 pounds), who finished in second place. Cameron Harvey (125 pounds), Artis Rutledge (130 pounds), John Rice (152), Sebastian Evennou (160 pounds) all came in third place in their respective weight classes.
West Potomac returned to the mat Tuesday for a tri meet against Yorktown and Lee, after the Gazette’s press time. The Wolverines will also compete in the Wolverine Christmas Classic beginning Dec. 30.
