Centreville senior boys' basketball player Drake Diamond has committed to continue his education and his basketball career at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill. The 6-foot-8-inch Diamond was a captain for the Wildcats this year as they finished the season 9-13, winning four of their last six games. They eventually lost to Herndon, 70-61, in the Concorde District Tournament.
Diamond is also the sports editor of the school newspaper and a member of the tennis team and the It’s Academic Team. Wheaton College, a division III member of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) finished the season 22-8, losing 83-70 to Hope College in the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament.
