The Loudoun County Extension office invites property owners, managers and interested parties to attend a pest-control seminar at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, discussing the identification, prevention and control methods used to protect local forests from this pest. The seminar is free and will be held in the Loudoun County Extension Office training room, 30 B Catoctin Circle, S.E., in Leesburg.

"Get Me Started," a series of painting classes for adults who want to learn to paint but don’t know where to start, will be offered on Saturdays in October from 12:30-3 p.m. Participants need to preregister for each class but do not need to purchase any supplies. The Loudoun County Office of Virginia Cooperative Extension will offer a Virginia Gardener Shortcourse. The Shortcourse is a condensed version of the training that Trainees who are new members of the Master Gardener Volunteer program receive.
