The Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 17-year-old Ashburn teen wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred during the overnight on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
According to the report, around 1 a.m. Loudoun Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 44000 block of Choptank Terrace for a report of a gunshot victim. The victim was allegedly shot by Lavonte T. France, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Kraig Troxell, public information office for the Sheriff's Office, said France is a member of the Broad Run High School football team. Troxell said France has not been to school since the shooting.
The victim is engaged to the suspect’s mother. The victim was airlifted to a local hospital and his injuries are considered serious but nonlife threatening.
The shooting may have resulted from the continuation of a domestic situation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Troxell said the alleged domestic situation was between France's mother and her fiancé. France is believed have became upset and left the house around 8:30 p.m. Troxell said he returned around 1 a.m., possibly with anther subject, and with a firearm and allegedly committed the shooting.
