Make a card for a military service member on Saturday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Church of the Holy Comforter, 543 Beulah Road, Vienna. This activity will be held in the church library on the lower level of the building; enter through the preschool doors in the lower parking lot. Blank hand-made cards will be sent to service members so they can have something to send home to their loved ones for birthdays, anniversaries or any special occasion. All are welcome. The Baha’i community of McLean holds a weekly fireside, a meeting of discussion, devotion and fellowship, at 7500 Box Elder Court in McLean, beginning at 8 p.m. every Friday. English classes. McLean Baptist Church is offering free conversational English classes on Mondays. Classes include beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Advanced electives are Literature, U.S. Government, World Religions, and current events. There is no cost for the class or registration, however students must buy their own books.
