Prayer Breakfast
<bt>The Great Falls Ecumenical Council will pray for those serving overseas in places of risk at its next prayer breakfast at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Great Falls Community Library, 9830 Georgetown Pike. Everyone is invited to attend and to submit prayer concerns to be lifted up on behalf of the community. They may be emailed to secretary@stfrancisgreatfalls.org. Coffee and pastries donated by Arby’s will be served. All denominations are welcomed to attend as well as anyone who is presently “unchurched.” Call 703-759-2082.

For Donated Food
<bt>Loebig Chiropractic at 754 Walker Road, Great Falls, has worked with the Capital Area Food Bank in the past and this holiday season will be working with them again to help families in need. From Nov. 12-16, Loebig Chiropractic will be asking new patients to donate 10 or more non perishable food items in exchange for first-day services, a $180 value, free. Loebig will also accept any other food donations prior to Nov. 16. All food collected will be taken to the Capital Area Food Bank on Monday, Nov. 19.
<sh>Women’s Club
Hosts Jamboree
<bt>The Great Falls Women's Club will be hosting its fifth annual Bridge Jamboree at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 10550 Georgetown Pike, on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the Great Falls Women’s Club Scholarship Fund, to collect items and donations for the Fairfax County Women's Shelter, to meet fellow bridge players, and to have fun. There will be a range of playing abilities represented, and all levels of players are welcome to participate. Registration will be 9:30 a.m. and will feature a continental breakfast. In addition, snacks, beverages and a salad luncheon will be served. To make a reservation, send a check for $40 per person, made out to GFWCSF to Karen Magley, 11608 Holly Briar Lane, Great Falls, VA. 22066, by Wednesday, Nov. 21. Space is limited, and reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
<sh>Neighbors Care Package Packing Party
<bt>The Neighbors International Foundation invites local residents to come to a care package packing party on Saturday, Dec. 1. The Foundation is also in need of donations. Troops are asking for protein bars, beef jerky, toilet paper in small packs, mixes to add to individual water bottles, peanut butter, batteries (AA and AAA), Easy Mac, nuts, anything with protein, granola and trail mix.
