<sh>Bank Robbery in McLean
<bt>The employees of the M&T Bank at 6832 Old Dominion Drive in McLean were robbed on Tuesday, May 1. A man entered the bank around 10:15 a.m. wearing a mask. A robbery was announced, and a teller was ordered to surrender money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled. There were no injuries. A weapon was implied, but not seen. The suspect was described as a man of unknown race, about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a beige cloth mask, a black, hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants, black gloves and tennis shoes. <sh>DWI Directed Patrol Results in McLean Police District
<bt>Fairfax County Police Officers from around the county conducted a Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) directed patrol to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers on Friday, May 4, from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. Motorists were stopped for suspicion of driving while intoxicated and were checked to assure that their abilities to drive had not been impaired by alcohol or drugs. Approximately 43 motorists were stopped. Two arrests were made for DWI and 43 additional traffic summonses were issued for the following charges: speeding (10), defective equipment (10), highway signs (9), expired registration (5), improper lane change (3), failure to have a valid operator’s license (3), red light violations (2) and driving on a suspended operator’s license (1). Nine officers and one auxiliary police officer participated in the checkpoint.
