An Ashburn woman was charged with five felonies, Monday, April 30, for an alleged relationship she had with a teenage girl.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Caroline Dawn Maley, 24, a former counselor at Graydon Manor Behavioral Health Services in Leesburg, had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl, also from Ashburn, who was a resident at the facility.
"We had an independent source who told us that there was a relationship between a counselor and a patient," Kraig Troxell, spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, said of the investigation, which began in April of this year.
Maley and the teenager met in 2005, when Maley was primary residence counselor at the Leesburg facility. The teen was a resident of Graydon Manor from October 2005 to June 2006.
"The relationship occurred both in Graydon and outside the facility," Troxell said. "They met in several occasions at a motel in Sterling."
When Maley was arrested April 30, she was charged with four counts of indecent liberties with a minor child by a person in custody and one count of crimes against nature. Maley was released on bond and is set for arraignment in juvenile and family court this week.
