Brion's Grille in Fairfax was overflowing with politicians, supporters and Bulovas Sunday afternoon, March 25, as Del. David Bulova (D-37) threw a campaign kickoff party.
At the event, Bulova formally announced that he was seeking a second term in the Virginia House of Delegates. On hand to help make the announcement were members of the Bulova family, including his mother, Supervisor Sharon Bulova (D-Braddock), his wife Gretchen Bulova, and their children.
A who's who of Northern Virginia Democrats turned out to endorse David Bulova's candidacy, including Secretary of Virginia Katherine Hanley; Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chair Gerry Connolly (At-large); Dels. David Marsden (41), Stephen Shannon (35), James Scott (53), Mark Sickles (43) and Chuck Caputo (67); Supervisor Linda Smyth (Providence); at-large School Board member Janet Oleszek, who is running for the State Senate in the 37th Senate District; and School Board member Ilryong Moon (At-large).
From the City of Fairfax, Councilmembers R. Scott Silverthorne and Gary Rassmussen made an appearance. Also in attendance were Gregory C. Evans and Sally B. Ormsby, elected directors on the Northern Virginia Soil and Conservation District, the board that David Bulova served on before being elected to the House of Delegates.
No other candidate has yet formally announced for the 37th District House of Delegates race.
