In order to involve more members of the community, the McLean Community Center, in cooperation with the McLean Citizens Association, the McLean Planning Committee and the McLean Revitalization Corporation, has scheduled two additional open meetings to discuss the McLean Community Center's expansion plans.
The first meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, at Spring Hill Elementary School, 8201 Lewinsville Road. The second meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, at Longfellow Middle School, 2000 Westmoreland Street, Falls Church.
The center held its first open meeting on expansion on March 14, at the center.
At the two new meetings, the McLean Community Center Governing Board will present its proposal for expanding the Center’s main facility at 1234 Ingleside Avenue and the Old Firehouse Teen Center, a satellite program of the Center located at 1440 Chain Bridge Road. All McLean tax district residents are invited to attend the meetings and to ask questions and/or express their opinions on the proposals. The goal of the meeting is to get feedback from the community on the proposals and to identify a possible consensus on renovations to the Old Firehouse building. All of the cosponsoring groups are interested in the Old Firehouse Teen Center renovation as it is located in the McLean Revitalization District.
