On Friday evening, March 2, Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce and Westfields Marriott Hotel presented a fund-raiser event, Corporate Challenge Putt and Party, an 18-hole miniature golf extravaganza set up throughout the hotel.
More than 130 players enjoyed camaraderie, food and beverages and a professional comedian during the pre-tournament reception. Half of the money raised will go to the Children’s Miracle Network, the other half to the Chamber’s educational initiatives. These include Ethics Day, scholarships, ESOL training, Student Job Fair and financial literacy programs.
Jason Paul of Westfields Golf Course set up holes all over the hotel — in the indoor pool, an auditorium, ballrooms, a suite, the pub and more. Hole Sponsors designed the structures of their hole. Trophies and gifts were awarded to top winners.
Matt Boyd of Travelers Insurance, a guest of sponsor HRI Associates, achieved the best score, and his team came in first as well. The Observer Newspapers team placed second.
