Langley Orchestra at Kennedy Center

The Langley High School Orchestra has been invited to perform their Latin-American program in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall on Sunday, June 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. The concert will be promoted by Manhattan Concert Productions, and will also include the Masterworks Festival Chorus and the National Festival Chorus.

The orchestra will be joined by champion ballroom dancers and friends of the Langley High School Orchestra Latin-American program, Todd Borzych and Migle Gineityte, who have choreographed an original tango to perform with the musicians. The program will also include the celebrated “Bachianas Brazilieras” by Heitor Villa-Lobos with soprano Karla Rivera and guitarist Andrew Winn, as well as Langley’s senior cellist Bo Min Son, principal of the American Youth Philharmonic, playing Jose Bragato's “Graciela y Buenos Aries,” a musical depiction of a beautiful woman that Bragato met in his home town in Argentina.

Senior pianist Paul Chung, winner of the McLean McDonald Music Competition, will also be a featured, and will perform a rendition of Astor Piazzolla's "Four Seasons."
