The Northern Virginia Senior Olympics will celebrate its 25th anniversary, Sept. 15-27. Opening day ceremonies, Saturday, Sept. 15, 10:30 a.m., will be followed by track and field events at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center, 3501 S. 2nd St., Arlington. A minihealth fair will also be held on opening day from 9 a.m.-noon, sponsored by the Virginia Hospital Center.
More than 20 events will take place at various venues throughout the sponsoring jurisdictions, which include the cities of Alexandria, Falls Church and Fairfax and the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William. Participants must be 50 years of age and live in one of the sponsoring jurisdictions.
