Sarah Chilton, a political science major and international studies minor from Alexandria, graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., on Saturday, June 2. She is a 2003 graduate of West Potomac High School in Alexandria and is the daughter of Scott and Sonia Chilton.
Ryan Hogan, an economics and business major from Alexandria, graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., on Saturday, June 2. During his time at Randolph-Macon, Hogan was named Greek Man of the Year for 2007. He also was the Inter-Fraternity Council President, and a member of the College Republicans group and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He played baseball for R-MC in 2003-2004. Hogan is a 2003 graduate of Bishop Ireton High School, and the son of William and Victoria Hogan of Alexandria.
Jill Marie Homiak, daughter of John Homiak of Alexandria, graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., with a degree in business, organizations and society with a minor in Italian.
Grace M. Dobbyn, the daughter of Dyan Donaldson and Paul Spring Road and John Dobbyn of Mount Vernon Landing, has been named to the Dean's List at Hamilton College for the 2007 Spring semester. A risisng senior majoring in sociology at Hamilton, Dobbyn is a graduate of Georgetown Visitation Prep School.
Ahrielle F. Cook, daughter of Mr. Theron D. Cook and Mrs. Claire R. Cook of Alexandria, graduated from Amherst College with a double major in English and Spanish.
Jelle Pouwel Wiersma of Alexandria received an associate of science degree from Western Wyoming Community College during the college's May 18 commencement ceremony.
Emerson College student Stefanie Lynch of Alexandria, an interdisciplinary major in cultural studies and social advocacy who is entering her senior year, has been selected as one of only five students nationally to receive a Howard R. Swearer Humanitarian Award. She is the second Emerson student to receive the prestigious award in the past four years. The award is presented annually by the Campus Compact student volunteerism organization. Lynch’s many public service projects have included working with the Boston Center for Youth and Families in the office of Robert Lewis, Jr. Among other things, she organized a conference for teen girls last summer. She has also volunteered with the Boston,-based non-profit group "Peace Games," (http://www.peacegames.org), and also has been active in the international campaign to promote Fair Trade in coffee, chocolate and other food and is involved with Cradles to Crayons (http://www.cradlestocrayons.org).
Katherine V. Malloy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Malloy of Alexandria, recently graduated from Oldfields School in Glencoe, Md. She plans to attend East Carolina University.

Elizabeth Cantando of Alexandria, was the recipient of a $5,000 Aerospace Graduate Research Fellowship from the Virginia Space Grant Consortium. She attends the University of Virginia and is getting her Ph.D in engineering physics.
