Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce's Monthly Mixer will take place on Thursday, Jan. 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Frying Pan Farm Park's Visitor's Center, 2709 West Ox Road, Herndon. Modern Woodmen of America representative Harry D. Goodman of Chantilly has attained the Fraternal Insurance Counsellor designation. The FIC title is an educational designation that can be earned by career life insurance representatives associated with fraternal insurance societies. Representatives devote more than one year to meet the examination and career development criteria set by the Fraternal Field Managers Association.

The Centreville Rotary Club has moved its meeting location from the I-Hop in Centreville to the EggsSpectations Restaurant in Chantilly. The Rotary Club meets Tuesdays from 11:30-12:30 p.m. for lunch. There is a new guest speaker every week with topics ranging from estate planning to how the Rotary helps during emergencies. The Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce has selected finalists in the Chamber's annual Business Award competition. Winners will be announced Saturday, Feb. 3, in Herndon at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport on the occasion of the Chamber's Annual Gala and Awards Ceremony. The following are finalists for awards in various business and volunteer categories.

AARP Tax-Aide, a free, volunteer-run tax counseling and preparation service, is seeking volunteers to electronically complete and file 2006 federal and state income tax forms. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome but ability to use a computer is a must. Evening and Saturday shifts are available. Tax counselors receive free tax training and become IRS certified by passing the IRS examination.
