Northern Virginia Stuttering Support Group, a support group for people who stutter, meets the third Tuesday of the month at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Road, Oakton. The next meeting is Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

The Truth About Osteoporosis: Fact vs. Fiction is the topic of a free seminar on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 7-8 p.m. at the Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry St., S.E. Dr. Kathryn Thomas of New Life Wellness Center will discuss the causes of osteoporosis and what you can do to prevent or reverse this condition. A free t’ai chi beginners practice is held every Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic School Gymnasium, 7005 Georgetown Pike, McLean through March 31. Balance and Beyond. Persons with Parkinson’s Disease who can walk unassisted are invited to join a balance class that meets weekly on Wednesdays at 1:15 p.m., at the Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry St. S.E. The classes are sanctioned by the Parkinson Foundation for the National Capital Area (PFNCA) and are led by a certified instructor of the American Senior Fitness Association.
