John "Jack" W. Bowman II, 82, died on Jan. 30. He was a World War II veteran and longtime electrical engineer for the U.S. Navy. He and his family lived in the city of Alexandria from 1967-2004. He was born in Gloucester, Ma., as was his late wife M. Lois (nee Ireland). He was the loving father of the late Jean (Aubrey) Leatherland, the late Marcia Bowman, and John (Rebecca) Bowman III of Homewood, Ill. He was the son of the late John W. Bowman and Clara Bowman of Gloucester. He was the grandfather of Elizabeth Leatherland of Fredericksburg, Va; uncle of David Bowman of Los Alamos, N.M. He was preceded in death by brothers William and David and sister Marcia. Interment will be at Beechbrook Cemetery, West Gloucester, Ma.
