Thursday, Feb. 8 at Langley High School, parent-teacher conferences by appointment only, 7:30-10 a.m. in the cafeteria. Students have a three-hour delayed opening, classes begin at 10:20 a.m.
Penny Game is back at McLean High School. It runs through Friday Feb. 9. Donate loose change to support each class. Donations accepted in the cafeteria during all lunches.
The cast and crew of McLean High School’s Alice in Wonderland came in second at the Liberty District Play Festival and will be going on to Regionals on Saturday, Feb. 10.
The Cooper Middle School SCA is sponsoring Spirit Week, Feb. 12-16. Monday is Pajama Day, wear PJ’s and be comfy and cozy in class all day. Tuesday is Beach Attire Day, wear fun in the sun attire. Wednesday is Valentine’s Day, wear pink and red to celebrate the day. Thursday is Wacky Tie Day, wear a tie that will convey wackiness. Friday is Class Color Day, 7th grade wears blue and 8th grade wears red. School dress code is enforced for all of Spirit Week. Daily prizes will be awarded to the most spirited in homerooms and lunches.
Kent Gardens Elementary School’s next PTA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. Janie Strauss, our school board representative, accepted our invitation to come and speak about the Fairfax County Public Schools fiscal year 2008 budget and Kent Gardens overcrowding issues. Mike Foland, project manager, at Fairfax County Public Schools will also attend the meeting to discuss opportunities to increase parental involvement in the educational process.
