Authorities are still waiting on toxicology reports in hopes of determining the cause of 19-year-old Rodrigo Nicolas Vitullo’s death last Wednesday night, Dec. 12. A preliminary autopsy revealed no clear cause of death, said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kraig Troxell. He said it usually takes two to three weeks to get the results of a toxicology test, although the wait could be longer.
Vitullo was found at about 9:15 a.m., Thursday, near some trees in a common area along Windmill Drive in the Ridgeview Place area of Ashburn Farm. According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, he had been at an Ashburn Village residence with a few friends Wednesday night, and two of the friends told authorities that they dropped Vitullo off at his home in the Broadlands area around midnight.
"Right now, we’re asking the public to come forth with information," said Troxell, adding that accounts of any suspicious activity or sightings of Vitullo in the area that night could be helpful. "He should have stuck out if anyone saw him walking, because he was only wearing a T-shirt and jeans and it was pretty cold that night," he said. Vitullo had not taken his car.
