Parent volunteers are needed to help distributed McLean High School back-to-school packets on Thursday, Aug. 23 and Friday, Aug. 24. Cooper Middle School parent community service chairman, Mrs. Forrer, is asking for 8th grade students and their parents to volunteer to help stuff back-to-school packets for Cooper students.
The students can earn community service hours by helping Wednesday, Aug. 29. Those interested can contact crforrer@verizon.net.
As part of the Kent Gardens Elementary School safety and security initiative, all volunteers must have a Kent Gardens Volunteer badge with a picture for the upcoming school year. People without a badge will not be allowed to volunteer at the school after Monday, Sept. 10.
To get a badge, volunteers must see Ms. Boyer to have a photo taken. Parents coming in on Wednesday, Aug. 29 to stuff folders can get their picture taken then, others can come Wednesday, Sept. 5 2:30-3 p.m.
Peter Doon Foley has been accepted by Hampden-Sydney College and will enroll with a President’s Award in August 2007. Peter is a graduate of Langley High School and is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Stephen D. Foley of McLean.
Christine Lewis, a resident of McLean, has recently been named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the spring semester.
