<sh>2020 Survey Results Unveiled

<bt>On Tuesday, May 8, the Great Falls 2020 Vision Project survey results will be presented at the Great Falls Citizens Association (GFCA) general session at the Great Falls Grange, located at 9818 Georgetown Pike. The meeting will begin one hour earlier than normal, at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome and light refreshments will be provided. For more information visit www.gfcitizens.org.

<sh>Sport Parent Workshop at McLean High School

<bt>The Positive Coaching Alliance, in partnership with the Safe Community Coalition (SCC) and McLean Youth Athletics, will offer a “Sport Parent Workshop” on Tuesday, May 15, from 7p.m. to 9 p.m. in the McLean High School Lecture Hall, located at 1633 Davidson Road in McLean. In this workshop, parents will learn about the “Double Goal” coach model which focuses not just on winning, but on teaching children and youth life lessons through sports. This workshop will provide parents with the tools to help their children get the most out of the youth sports experience. <sh>Annual Safe Community Coalition Meeting on May 3

<bt>The Safe Community Coalition (SCC) will hold its annual meeting and Board of Directors election on Thursday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Ave. in McLean. The Safe Community Coalition is a local, non-profit organization dedicated to making the local community a safe place for its youth. The all-volunteer organization serves the area defined by the Langley High School and McLean High School pyramids, and includes both public and private schools. Throughout the year, the Safe Community Coalition sponsors a variety of events and activities geared toward both youth and their parents. For more information, visit www.safecommunitycoalition.net.

<sh>Seeking Local Authors in Great Falls

<bt>Over the years, the Great Falls Historical Society (GFHS) has published several books, including “Land Above the Falls” and “This Land at Cornwell Farm.” The Great Falls Historical Society also publishes a smaller work annually, and this year’s was “Reflections 2007,” which is currently available for purchase at Falls Hardware. The Great Falls Historical Society is currently seeking authors in the community with an interest in local history to join the “Reflections 2008” project.
