A spring snow proved a minor setback to trout fishermen at Lake Accotink Park on Saturday, April 7.
The Fairfax County Park Authority stocked the lake on Feb. 9 with 1,000 pounds of rainbow trout. Weekly restocking of the lake alternates with restocking at Lake Fairfax Park in Reston. Trout fishing is open at both parks through Sunday, April 22, from 7 a.m. until dusk.
During the restocking program, anglers may fish for trout by purchasing season passes at either park. Passes are $35/adults, $30/children 6-15 and $30/seniors 60 and over. After April 22, fishing is free.
As part of the program, all Virginia game and fishing laws are in effect, including the requirement that fishermen 16 and older must carry a valid Virginia fishing license and that there is a six fish per day limit.
