The Vienna office of Protiviti Inc., an international internal audit, business and technology risk consulting firm, promoted the following individuals:
* Matthew Taeschner has been promoted to senior manager.
* Harold A. Haugen Jr. has been promoted to manager.
First Horizon hired John R. Kell, of Vienna, as vice president of private client services. Kell will serve the Mid-Atlantic region operating from the bank’s regional headquarters in Tysons Corner, and will report to J. Jordan O’Neill III, executive vice president of First Horizon’s Mid-Atlantic region. Kell brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry to the bank. He most recently served as president and CEO of Prism Financial Services Inc. where he founded a business that assisted small- to medium-sized commercial borrowers. At First Horizon he works closely with the commercial lending area and specifically with high-net-worth clients with loan and depository needs.
Jeffrey P. Bialos, of McLean, was appointed to the Secure Commonwealth Panel by Gov. Tim Kaine. Bialos is a partner
with Sutherland, Asbill, & Brennan LLP. He has previously served as U.S. Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Industrial Affairs.
Richard C. Sullivan, Jr., of McLean, was appointed to the Commission on Civics Education by Gov. Tim Kaine. Sullivan is an attorney with Reed Smith, LLP, and serves on the board of Legal Services of Northern Virginia.
Balan Nair, of McLean, chief information officer and executive vice-president of technology operations at AOL was appointed by Gov. Tim Kaine to the Health Information Technology Council.
