Army Reserve <b>Spec. Darrell D. Frazier </b>is currently deployed to Southwest Asia or the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and/or Operation Enduring Freedom. In Southwest Asia, Frazier is a finance specialist assigned to the Wisconsin-based 376th Finance Battalion. He is regularly assigned to the 398th Finance Battalion at Fort Belvoir, Va. Frazier has served in the military for almost two years. In his civilian occupation, Frazier is a maintenance technician specializing in aircraft cleaning for the Aramark Corp., in Arlington, Va. Frazier is the nephew of Walter P. Joiner of Randolph Road, Rockville. He is a 2003 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Silver Spring.
Army Reserve <b>Staff Sgt. Andrew B. Pitts</b> has returned to the U.S. after being deployed to an overseas forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Pitts, a transportation management coordinator, is normally assigned to the 1398th Division Support Battalion, in Baltimore. He has 23 years of military service. He is the son of Otharea B. Pitts of Maidens Bower Drive, Potomac. His wife, Deborah, is the daughter of Ross L. and Elaine P. Jones of Chalgrove Ave., Baltimore. Pitts received a bachelor's degree in 1981 from West Maryland College, Westminster, and earned his master's degree in 1996 from the University of Baltimore.
Army National Guard Spec. <b>Jose A. Duran </b>served as a member of a task force that consisted of transportation, maintenance, and medical soldiers, who deployed to southern California to support efforts of the U.S. Border Patrol and to enhance the homeland defense mission. Duran, a water purification specialist, is assigned to the 729th Brigade Support Battalion, Reistertown, Md. He has served in the military for four years. He is the son of Jose A. and Sandra L. Duran of Longwood Drive, Rockville, and is a 2003 graduate of Rockville High School.
