The Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted robbery at a BB&T Bank on Davenport Drive in Sterling Tuesday, Aug. 29.
Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kraig Troxell said the victim was attempting to deposit a moneybag in the night deposit slot of an ATM when the suspect, who displayed a weapon, approached him. The suspect left the scene without taking money and was last seen heading toward the back of the shopping center.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens with a slim build. He was wearing a faded black T-shirt and faded jeans, and may have left the scene in a white SUV.
