Laughs at South County

On Sept. 28, the South County Comedy Club, better known as one of the theatre classrooms, was filled with laughter. From robust and booming, to tiny gigglers Comedy Cabaret Night earned all types of laughs and entertained audiences of all ages.

The night, which served as a fund raiser for the department, included many different performances. Theatre students acted out comedic scenes, sang various songs, and performed improvisation in a “Who’s Line is it Anyway” style. The team played games chosen by the audience as well as a few of their favorites. The MC of the Night, Johnee’ Wilson, kept the audience laughing with her jokes and her clown act that was packed with physical comedy

The show never could have been such a success without the help of the dedicated Stallion Theatre Boosters. These moms worked overtime to decorate one of the theatre rooms into a fun and comedic cabaret. Every table was provided with a healthy serving of popcorn and a schedule for the night. The popcorn bowls and drink cups were filled by dedicated middle school students — members of the South County Junior Thespian Society — dressed in matching waiter uniforms. The moms, the middle schoolers, and the performers put on a great show that served as a successful fundraiser as well as a very entertaining night.
