Two months ago, police charged a Chantilly man and a Maryland man with pandering and other crimes. Now four of those charges are going to the grand jury.
On April 1 around 3 a.m., a City of Fairfax detective found out that a runaway was staying at the Fairfield Inn on Corsair Court in Chantilly. Since the hotel was in their jurisdiction, Fairfax County officers responded to the scene and discovered a 16-year-old girl there with two men — each 26 years old.
"Investigation [allegedly] revealed that the men and girl were using the Internet to facilitate a prostitution business," say police. "Illegal narcotics were also [reportedly] discovered inside the hotel room."
Police arrested Joshua Brandon Tart of 13110 Point Pleasant Drive in Chantilly and Miguel Angelo Castro of 8501 Allentown Road, Fort Washington, Md. Both were charged with pandering and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Tart was also charged with producing sexually explicit material and distributing marijuana to a minor.
Last Friday, May 26, in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, the charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor were dropped. However, Castro's pandering charge was sent to the next grand jury for possible indictment.
As for Tart, the pandering, sexual-material production and marijuana-distribution charges were also certified to the grand jury. Meanwhile, both men are being held without bond at the Adult Detention Center.
