U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf at Great Falls Freedom Memorial

<bt>The Great Falls Freedom Memorial Committee will host a Memorial Day service at the Great Falls Freedom Memorial, 9830 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, on Monday, May 29 at 11 a.m., in remembrance for those who have died while in our nationĂ­s service. U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf, the keynote speaker, and Dranesville Supervisor Joan DuBois will help officiate the ceremonies.

The public is invited to attend this second Memorial Day service at the Freedom Memorial, located next to the Great Falls Library.

<sh>MCC Governing Board Meeting

<bt>The McLean Community Center Governing Board will meet on Wednesday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Center. This will be the final 2005-2006 meeting. All meetings of the Governing Board are open to the public. Members of the public who wish to speak during the "Citizen Comment" portion of the meeting are asked to call the Center to be placed on the agenda. Immediately after the meeting is adjourned, the incoming 2006-2007 Governing Board will convene and elect officers for the coming year. <sh>Post 270 Hosts Memorial Service

<bt>The Members of Post 270 invite people to the Memorial Grove, located in front of the main entrance to the High School on Monday, May 29 at 12:30 p.m. A celebration of freedom and tribute to those brave men and women who sacrificed their lives will be held. All active duty, guard and reserve personnel who are serving at home and abroad will also be honored. Police and fire personnel will also be recognized. The Memorial Garden is located at the Davidson Road entrance to the high school. Parking is available in the surrounding parking lots. Call Jack McMahon at 703-356-4586.

<sh>MCA Meeting

<bt>The McLean Citizens Association (MCA) will hold its Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, May 25, at 7:30 p.m., at the McLean Community Center. The public is invited to attend. At 7:30 p.m. there will be a report of the McLean Citizens Foundation. At 8 p.m., there will be a panel discussion of Rail to Tysons: An Update, by Marcia McAllister, Manager of Communications, Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project. <bt>In the article "Scientists of Tomorrow" in the May 10-16 edition of the Great Falls Connection, it was incorrectly stated that Longfellow Middle School participated in the Science Olympiad for the first time this year. Last year the Longfellow Science Olympiad team won many medals in the competition, and the Longfellow team has won 1st and 2nd place in the Virginia State competition in the past 5 years.
