T.C. Graduate Arrested for Murder

Christopher Martin, a 2003 graduate of T.C. Williams High School, has been arrested by the Alexandria Police Department in connection with the murder of a Fairfax County man. After executing two search warrants — one in Fairfax County and one in Alexandria — officers obtained a warrant of arrest for first-degree murder on May 9 at 10:32 p.m.

Police say that the search warrants led them to Martin, 20. According to court documents, Martin’s address is 2242 North Beauregard St.

The murder happened on March 21. Officers were called to the 300 block of South Whiting Street for the report of an injured man. When they arrived, they found the victim deceased inside a parked car. Mustafa Aburanat, a 41-year-old Annandale man, had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a video arraignment hearing on Tuesday, an Alexandria General Court judge appointed counsel to Martin and set a preliminary hearing date in June. He is being held without bond in the Adult Detention Center.
