Civil War Artillery at the Fort. 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery reenactors portray a Union regiment stationed at Fort Ward. Firing demonstrations with replica cannons, displays of projectiles and artellery equipment, and camp life activities such as mail call, pay call and cooking. St. Mary’s Spring Fling. 16th annual event at St. Mary’s School, 400 Green St., 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Family Fun: carnival rides, kid crafts, games, flea market, book sales, music and food. Daimler Chrysler “Drive for Kids” will donate $10 to the school for each test drive, so take a spin behind the wheel and raise money for the school.

Roses and Daffodils at the Old City Cemetery. This guided walking tour includes horticulture and history. A new exhibit, “Beneath the Surface” a history of underclothes will be on display in their wonderful museum. The walking tour is on rough unpaved surfaces. Workshop: Summer Weeds - Identification & Removal. Brenda Skarphol, staff horticulturist, shows how to identify common annual and perennial summer weeds.
