Alexandria Police Foundation BBQ, Auction
The Alexandria Police Foundation’s second annual backyard BBQ, social and auction will be Sunday, May 21, 1-4 p.m. at the home of Shawn and Cassie McLaughlin, 1615 N. Frost St. $75 per person or $200 per family — children are welcome for moon bounce, clowns and face painting. Special guest auctioneers Sean McLaughlin, Gant Redmon and Anne Best Rector. Proceeds benefit the pruchase of medical insurance for retired K-9 police dogs, scholarship grants to police officers and programs and equipment to assist law enforcement personnel. Paws For A Cause Miniature Golf Tournament
The 5th Annual Putting for Pooches Mini Golf Classic will be held on Thursday, June 8, 5-8 p.m. at Cameron Run Regional Park, located at 4001 Eisenhower Ave., hosted by the Eisenhower Partnership and the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. Lane Development will be this year’s grand sponsor.
For the first time, attendees are invited to bring along their own dogs, making this a true “paws for a cause” event. Admission to the event includes a round of miniature golf, free food and beverages and the silent auction. Live music, special activities for children and dog-friendly fun will also be featured. Admission is $15 per person or $45 for a family of four. Registration forms can be found online at www.eisenhowerpartnership.org.
