The club sponsors an annual $2,500 scholarship for a high school in area, plants trees and foliage at area high schools, contributes books to school libraries and takes care of a family during Thanksgiving and Christmas, among other endeavors. The Woman's Club of Springfield
Janet Crupper and Susan Edson, co-presidents. Meets the first Tuesday of every month, September through June, at 7:30 p.m., at Grace Presbyterian Church in Springfield. A business meeting and a short social period follow a brief program covering a subject of general interest to members. All adult females welcome. The Pink Elephant Consignment Shop in the Concord Center on Backlick Road, Springfield, helps raise funds.

The League is a non-partisan citizen's group, not just for women despite its name. The group researches governmental issues that members agree need looking into and may agree to a position, through a careful consensus process, which the group then promotes in the community.
