Thousands filled the streets of the Reston Town Center during the two-day Reston Festival last weekend. In addition to celebrating Reston’s birthday — this year was Reston’s 42nd — the annual event offered entertainment, arts and crafts, local cuisine, and dozens of activities for all ages. Held all day on July 8 and 9, the event attracted people from all over Northern Virginia.
The first Reston Festival in 1967 was sponsored by the Reston Citizens Association at the Lake Anne Village Center. The festival moved to the town center in 2003 and has since featured many more community sponsors, including the RCA, Reston Association, Reston Town Center Association and the Reston Community Center as well as other groups and businesses.
