Aldersgate Church Community Theater will present the opening of “Anything Goes” in Wesley Hall, Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1301 Collingwood Road. The show is set aboard luxury liner SS American as it sails from New York to Southampton.

A series of comical mistaken identities ensues as the passengers and crew sing and dance their way across the Atlantic. Remaining performance dates are July 7 and 8 at 8 p.m. Matinee performances are July 9 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors 65 and over.

“The Barber of Seville” will be at Lubber Run Ampitheatre July 7 through Aug. 7. The show is a 45-minute one-act version of Rossini’s masterpiece, suitable for the whole family. MetroStage presents Ellington, the Life and Music of the Duke, a cabaret about jazz legend Duke Ellington. “Assassins,” by Stephen Sondheim runs from through July 23. This 2004 Tony Award-winning show gives a captivating look at the lives and lunacy of nine infamous assassins, from John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald.
