>"Thoroughly Modern Millie" presented by the Montgomery College Theater program will hit the Summer Dinner Theatre stage. In this play based on the popular movie of the same name, Millie the flapper challenges the pre-existing rules of fashion, work and love. "Thoroughly Modern Millie" will have its evening performances on July 14-15, 21-23, with matinees scheduled for July 28-30. For evening shows, the buffet opens at 6:30 p.m. and the curtain rises at 8:15 p.m. For matinees, the buffet opens at 12:30 p.m. and the curtain rises at 2:15 p.m. All performances will be held in the Theatre Arts Building at the Montgomery College Rockville Campus. "Hanging in the Balance" will be at Creative Partners Gallery, 4600 East-West Highway, Bethesda from June 6-July 8. Sculpture by Donna McCullough and new work by Gallery Members. Among the works showcased in this exhibition will be several of the austere yet ethereal metal dresses for which McCullough has earned great acclaim. Puppet Co. "Meditations in Pastel." "Argentinean Artists" exhibit features five artists from Argentine who use a multitude of art mediums. The exhibit, which runs from June 29-July 27, is at The Ratner Museum, 10001 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda. "The Borrowers," based on the novels by Mary Norton, is playing from July 5-Aug. 13 at Imagination Stage, 4908 Auburn Ave., Bethesda. Performances are Tuesday-Friday at 10:30 a.m.; Saturday at 3:30 p.m.; Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. There are also a few 7 p.m. performances on Saturday. There will be a sign-interpreted performance on July 30 and Aug. 12 at 3:30 p.m. On July 29, the 7 p.m. performance is "Party Night" where children will receive a snack and souvenir, have a chance to meet the actors and are encouraged to "dress for the occasion."
