A Sterling man was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital as a result of a hit-and-run accident Sunday night in Sterling.
The 29-year-old man was hit by a car while crossing Palisades Parkway at the intersection of Cascades Parkway, around 6:55 p.m.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the driver who hit the man and fled the scene of the crime. The vehicle is possibly a sedan that is red in color. The
vehicle may have minor front-end damage as a result of the incident.
"We are hoping that someone who witnessed the accident will come forward," said Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kraig Troxell.
If a witness comes forward with information that leads to an arrest and indictment, he or she may be eligible for a $1,000 award.
The man is in stable condition.
"We are not sure where he was on the street, but we will be able to find out more information from him, now that he is able to talk," Troxell said.
