Although the official Discovery Park build will take place during the week of Oct. 16, the Sully Elementary community is going to get a head-start this summer and start doing some pre-building, Saturday, Aug. 5, from 8 a.m.-noon. Everyone is welcome to come and help. Bring power tools if have them. The community will also do some prebuilding Aug. 12 and Aug. 26 as well.

High-school students and their families are invited to participate in Virginia Private College Week through Saturday, Aug. 5. Students who visit three colleges during the week will receive special application fee waivers, making it possible to apply to any three institutions for free.
Campus tours during Private College Week may include informational sessions on how to apply for admission and financial aid. Sessions at most colleges will be offered at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and at 9 a.m., Saturday, exceptions are noted on www.privatecollegeweek.org.

All members of the Dominion High School community Ñ past, present and future Ñ are invited to attend Taste of Titan Territory 4, a community potluck picnic and pep rally to be held Saturday, Aug. 26.
Families, faculty and businesses within the Dominion School Cluster are welcome to join in the free activities and games for all ages. Includes the famous Titan "T" picture, dunk tank and opportunity to meet students involved in cheerleading, marching band and fall sports teams.
This rain-or-shine, from 4-7 p.m., at Dominion High School, 21236 Augusta Drive, Sterling. Bring a dish to share as well as lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on. Beverages will be provided. Those attending the pep rally will be eligible to win a family season athletic pass.
