Herndon resident Raul Danny Vargas, president VARCom Solutions, was selected to serve on the boards of directors of the Northern Virginia Family Service and the Fairfax Partnership for Youth. In these positions, Vargas will support the missions of these organizations as they serve families and youths in Northern Virginia.
Active in the Hispanic and at-large business communities, Vargas founded VARCom Solutions which he runs from his home office in Herndon.
Vargas has lent his background and expertise in marketing, communications, media and public relations to benefit a number of non-profit groups. In addition he also works with Herndon-based technology groups to market their services in the technology field.
"I am proud, honored and humbled to have been asked to serve the community on the boards of these exceptional organizations,” Vargas said about the appointments. “The programs and services these groups offer have a positive impact on parents and youths in our area and the results have been, and will continue to be, stronger families for the future.”
The mission of the Northern Virginia Family Service is to empower individuals and families to improve their quality of life and to promote community cooperation and support in responding to family needs. The organization provides early childhood development and family services, community services including financial and housing assistance, access to health care, foster care services and more. Established more than 80 years ago, NVFS is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children and has offices throughout the Northern Virginia region.
The Fairfax Partnership for Youth’s mission is to bring the community together to reduce youth violence and promote positive youth development in Fairfax County. The Partnership provides a forum for public and private providers to coordinate, collaborate, create and evaluate programs and services that integrate activities, fill gaps and reduce redundancy. The Partnership provides services related to mentoring, academic support for students on suspension, after school programs for middle school children, youth resources information and gang prevention initiatives.
Vargas also serves on the board of the Herndon Dulles Chamber of Commerce and acts as its VP of marketing, is the chairman of a Hispanic advisory group for U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf (R-10), is a member of the Northern Virginia advisory board for the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and an active member of the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce.
