Pender United Methodist Church will hold its Fall Flea Market and Women's Boutique on Thursday, Oct. 6 through Saturday, Oct. 8. The event offers new and better quality, as well as slightly used items. Located at Pender United Methodist Church, west of Fair Oaks Mall on the right-hand side.

Lord of Life Lutheran Church will offer a Service of Hope and Encouragement for those undergoing treatment for, the survivors of, and those who have been touched by breast cancer on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Through scripture, prayer, music and Communion, the service will give thanks to God. Wellspring pastor Jeremy McLeod will speak Sunday, Oct. 9 on "the great banquet — just who is on that guest list?" There will be special music by the new Wellspring choir. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington is offering a 10-week therapeutic support group for survivors of sexual abuse to run from Monday, Oct. 17 to Dec. 19 in Arlington. Congregation Beth Emeth of Herndon will offer an Israeli Dancing class for beginners and beyond. The eight-session program will meet on Thursdays, beginning Oct. 20 and ending Dec. 22 at the synagogue. Participants will begin by learning simple line dances and progress to the most popular modern folk dances of Israel. Experience is not required. Non-slip shoes are recommended. New Life Christian Church is launching its second season of the Authentic Masculinity Workshop. Men between the ages of 18 and up are encouraged to attend this workshop focused on teaching men to become better leaders, brothers, sons, husbands and fathers — the kind of men God wants them to be. Community Care Groups at New Life Christian Church

* Food Freedom — A Celebrate Recovery Support Group. This group uses a proven Biblical approach to promote healing from compulsive eating problems. The group meets at Westfield High School at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. Child Care is provided.

* Help for Hurts, Habits, and Hang-Ups — A Celebrate Recovery Group. This group uses the 12-step approach coupled with the teachings of Jesus to help overcome or cope with all types of addictions, compulsions and life problems. The group meets at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday at Westfield High School. Child care is provided.

* Dealing with Divorce — A Divorce Care Support Group. This is a video-based seminar group for people who are separated or divorced. The group is a place to receive sound information about ways to heal from the hurt and to cope with the life pressures which accompany separation and divorce. The group meets at 11 a.m. each Sunday at Westfield High School. Child care is provided.

Healthy Boundaries — Getting Control of Your Life. The group helps the over-stressed, over-worked and over-committed to gain control of their lives through developing healthy, balanced relationships. The group meets at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday at 13777 Laurel Rock Drive; Clifton.

The Activity Center at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church is every Sunday after the 11 a.m. Service's Children's Sermon. Children ages 3-7 go to the preschool area while parents listen to the sermon without interruption from little ones.
