Vienna Arts Society Inc. will host its first "Art in Miniature Exhibit," Oct. 3-26, for artists in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., at the Vienna Arts Center, 115 Pleasant St., 703-319-3971, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

The Big Apple Circus will premier its tour of Grandma Goes to Hollywood, at the Dulles Town Center, 21100 Dulles Town Cir., Dulles, through Oct. 10. Performance begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or can be purchased at the circus box office, located in front of the Big Top at Dulles Town Center. Ticket prices range from $15 to $39 for weekday evenings, $18 to $47 weekend and Columbus Day, and from $15 to $24 for 11 a.m. weekday matinees.

Teen Cinema Afterschool Program. Teens ages 12-17 are invited to the Herndon Community Center for an afternoon of refreshments and a movie — all free. Teen Cinema is held the second and fourth Thursday of every month from 2:30-4:30 p.m. This is a great way to see friends and make new ones. All movies are rated PG or PG-13. Call 703-435-6868. Drawings by Manon Cleary. The work of photo-realist Manon Cleary will be on display at the Waddell Art Gallery on the Loudoun Campus of Northern Virginia Community College, 1000 Harry F. Byrd Highway, Sterling. The show runs through Oct. 14. Cleary works from photos to create drawings in graphite and pencil that are photographically convincing. The American Red Cross of the National Capital Area's Fairfax/Falls Church Office, in conjunction with the Fairfax County Citizen Corps Council, will sponsor an Emergency Preparedness Clinic once a month for the next year. The clinics will be held in a different location in the County, the schedule will posted in libraries, on the Web Site, and other public locations. Reston Community Center's open wood shop meets Tuesdays, 6-10 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The wood shop offers workspace and has equipment such as table saws, sanders, drills, worktables and a lathe. The wood shop is located at the Reston Community Center, Hunters Woods. The wood shop fee is $5 for people who live or work in Reston and $7 for others. The Closet in downtown Herndon carries many specialty items ranging from glassware, to compact discs, to books, to clothes for the whole family, including evening wear and wedding dresses. The Closet, located at 845 Station St., is open for business Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Farm animals at Kidwell Farm, open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., daily. Sheep, pigs, goats and cows. Pet the animals, take a hay ride or watch farm hands at work. The Reston Community Center's Senior book group meets every fourth Thursday, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., at the Reston Community Center, Hunters Woods to discuss a wide variety of books. Watercolorists jurying. The Potomac Valley Watercolorists, one of the premier watermedia associations in the Washington area, will be jurying for new members and accepting applications by Nov. 1. Requirements for membership are professional quality watermedia work documented by acceptance into three juried shows within the past two years with three different paintings and three different judges. The Greater Reston Art Center, in collaboration with the Market Street Bar and Grill at the Reston Hyatt, will present an exhibition featuring Delna Dastur, an abstract painter who uses paint, charcoal and ink.
