The Center for Innovative Technology will host Innovative Partnerships 2005, a conference that brings small business leaders and key federal government program managers together to facilitate discussion on effectively working with the federal government. The conference will be held at the CIT headquarters Oct. 19-20.

CIT will bring more than 120 innovative technology companies and SBIR program participants from around the Mid-Atlantic region together with leading players in the federal R&D, systems integration and investment communities. The two-day conference will consist of workshops and panel sessions.

Topics covered at the conference include: Federal program updates, Challenges faced by SBIR awardees in commercializing to the government, The federal customer’s perspective, Preparing your company for spin-in, Working with federal venture capital funds, technology scouts and systems integrators.

EDS invited small businesses to its eastern regional headquarters office in Herndon Sept. 22, for a Small Business Opportunity Fair. The event provided an opportunity for representatives from service disabled veteran-owned and HUBZone (historically underutilized business area) small businesses to exhibit their capabilities and discuss potential business opportunities with EDS executives.

Some of EDS’ current small business partners also attended the event to talk about their experiences teaming with EDS.
