Connelly School of the Holy Child got an early start to the holidays Nov. 19 and 20 with its Mayfield Market, a craft fair featuring hand-made clothing, jewelry and holiday-themed gift items.
The festival, in its second year, is named for the small village in Sussex, England where Holy Child's founder Cornelia Connelly established her first school in 1862.
Parents and students from Holy Child and other area schools tried on clothing, jewelry and scarves and bought handmade crafts from area vendors, including many based in Potomac and Bethesda.
The school also sold food, school apparel and plants to raise money for Holy Child clubs and activities.
