After eight years of ministry at the Unitarian Universalists of Sterling, the Rev. Roberta Finkelstein has decided to move on to other challenges. Sunday, June 5, will be the last service in which she is in the pulpit. Her 10:30 a.m. service is titled "Into Our Futures" and will be both a farewell and a look forward. "Hands That Sing," a group of students from Indian Valley Middle School in The Mifflin County School District, located in the central Pennsylvania town of Reedsville, will be at Galilee UMC, 45425 Winding Road, Sterling, Sunday, June 12, at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The public is invited. On Sunday, May 22, Dr. Betsee Parker and Mr. Irwin Uran donated $100,000 in their daughter Rosie's honor to Congregation Sha'are Shalom's prekindergarten program, also named in honor of the little girl: the Rosie Uran Jewish Education Center (RUJEC). The gift was presented to Barry J. Memberg; president of the congregation, after Rosie, 2 blew out the candles on her cake.

RUJEC is an early, education-based, Jewish prekindergarten program for children ages 2 1/2 to 5. The mission is in the belief that education is the foundation of a child's life, and that Jewish education and values should be the cornerstone for Jewish children. The Rosie Uran Jewish Education Center provides an inspirational experience in a stimulating, nurturing and secure environment. Each child is considered to be unique and is encouraged to grow, based on his/her own level of development surround by Jewish enrichment.

Congregation Sha'are Shalom is located in Leesburg, and is a rapidly growing synagogue, with approximately 100 families. This Conservative synagogue is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.

Potomac Falls Episcopal Church meets for Sunday services at 10 a.m., at Horizon Elementary School, 46665 Broadmore Drive, Sterling. Sunday school for children and nursery care for infants is provided each week.

James Stafford will be leading a Bible for Liberals at the Unitarian Universalists of Sterling, taking a literary and critical approach to the Bible. The ancient historical, cultural, literary and religious heritage both in and beyond the Bible will be explored. Open to those who have and those who have not read the Bible. Bible for Liberals meetings occur every second Sunday, through June, from 12:30 -2:30 p.m. These meeting are designed to be casual, drop in,

St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, in conjunction with the Chaplaincy Department of Loudoun Hospital Center, provides a healing service on the second Sunday of each month, from 2:30-3:30 p.m., in the chapel of Loudoun Hospital Center, located on Riverside Parkway in Lansdowne. Patients, family, friends and staff, as well as the wider community are welcome. The service is conducted with "stations" so that people can drop in any time during the hour to receive healing prayer, holy communion, and request prayers for others. The Loudoun Church Alliance is a formal association of churches of many denominations, founded two years ago. It works in the areas of youth development, international missions, evangelism outreach, and is now working to develop relationships with government and business.
