The first Farmer's Market of the season was held Thursday, May 4, bringing town staff and residents out to enjoy fresh plants, produce, dairy, baked goods and meats.
This year's market features goods from Charles Elgin, who specializes in plants, Reid Orchard from Buchanan Valley, Pa., showcasing plants and produce, Hutt Produce, Red Rake Farm and Mount Olympus Farm.
In addition Claymont Community Farm has its salads and salad dressings — including a delicious House Vinaigrette — on display, as well as Grace's Pastries with fresh baked goods from the location in the Kmart shopping center off of Elden Street.
New this year was Cibola Farm showcasing fresh meats including buffalo and Blue Highland Dairy featuring it's dairy products.
Although in a new location, the Farmer's Market will run every Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Lynn Street.
