The Long & Foster Companies, the parent of Long & Foster Real Estate Inc., the largest independently-owned real estate company in the country, and its affiliated businesses, Prosperity Mortgage Company, Mid-States Title Insurance Agency Inc., and Long & Foster Insurance Agency Inc., has purchased land for a new 280,000-square-foot, five-story office building to be located at Willard Road and Route 28 in Chantilly. The new corporate headquarters building will sit on a 39.3-acre parcel of land, which was recently purchased by an LLC owned by The Foster family. The entire property is currently zoned for more than 1 million square feet of office space. The new Long & Foster headquarters building is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2008. There are 350 company employees at the firmÕs headquarters building, an 81,000-square-foot facility built in 1987, located on Random Hills Road in Fairfax.
