Man 52, Charged with Soliciting Girl, 15

When a Maryland man showed up at a Chantilly sandwich shop, last week, say police, he expected to hook up with a teen-age girl. He met, instead, an undercover Fairfax County police officer and was busted.

He is Wesley Creel, 52, of 12424 Rivers Edge Drive in Potomac. Police say he allegedly exchanged e-mails with someone he believed was a 15-year-old girl and eventually solicited her for sexual purposes. But the person on the receiving end of his missives was actually a detective with the Child Exploitation Unit.

Police say Creel reportedly arranged to meet the girl for sex. But when he arrived last Wednesday, March 9, at 6 p.m. in the parking lot of a sandwich shop in the 13600 block of Lee Jackson Highway, police were waiting and arrested him.

He was charged with using a communications system to facilitate certain offenses involving children. He was released from the Adult Detention Center, the next day, on $25,000 bond and has an April 26 court date. If convicted, he could be sentenced to a possible maximum of five years in prison.
